EVP Research and Workshop

Research-led EVP strategy with external rigour.

Everything in the EVP Strategy Workshop plus three days of research conducted by Steve. Stakeholder interviews, competitor analysis, and evidence-led findings that take you further through the process.

What it is

The workshop, with the hard work done first.

The difference between a workshop and a research-led workshop is not just who does the research. It's how far through the process you get.

Before the workshop day, I conduct three days of research on your behalf - interviews with your leadership team and key employees, competitor analysis across your talent market, and a review of how your organisation is perceived externally. The findings inform the workshop and produce a much stronger, more evidenced steer on EVP territory direction.

Rather than leaving with three equal territory hypotheses to resolve internally, you leave with a clearer recommendation grounded in what your people actually said and what your competitors are actually doing.

Three days of stakeholder research conducted by Steve
Leadership and employee interviews using Compass Method questions
Competitor talent brand analysis across 5-10 key rivals
External perception review - Glassdoor, LinkedIn, social sentiment
Compass Method framework mapped to your organisation
Evidence-led EVP territory recommendation
Complete messaging matrix template
90-day execution roadmap
All templates and tools in a working document
30-day email support as you execute

How it works

Research first. Workshop second.

1

Scoping and planning

We agree the research scope - who to interview, which competitors to analyse, and what external sources to review. I provide the interview guides and manage the scheduling.

2

Stakeholder interviews

I conduct interviews with your leadership team, long-tenure employees, and recent hires using the Compass Method framework. Typically 8-12 interviews across a week.

3

External research

Competitor analysis, Glassdoor and LinkedIn sentiment review, social climate research. Building the external picture to sit alongside the internal one.

4

Findings and workshop

I present the key findings and we work through them together in the workshop, developing territory hypotheses and a clear recommended direction based on the evidence.

5

Roadmap and 30-day support

You leave with a 90-day execution roadmap, all templates and tools, and 30 days of email support as you move from territory to finished EVP.

Is this right for you?

Right when internal resource is limited or stretched.

This tier is most valuable for organisations where the HR or People team doesn't have the time or experience to conduct robust research themselves, or where external credibility behind the findings matters - particularly when presenting to a sceptical leadership team.

This is right for you if

Your team is stretched and can't lead the research

You need external credibility to get leadership buy-in

Previous EVP work stalled because findings felt subjective

You want to go further through the process before taking it internal

You have internal capability to execute from territory onwards

You might need more support if

Nobody internally can take territory through to finished messaging

The EVP needs to be delivered to a hard deadline

You need the full EVP built, not just the direction set

Creative development is required alongside the strategy
